SQL Server setup media does not support the language…

by on Dec.23, 2013, under Knowledgebase, SQL Server, SQL Server 2008, SQL Server 2012

ein evergreen…. möchte man eine SQL Server Installation auf einem deutschsprachigen Server (schweizer Ländereinstellungen) installieren, kann folgende Meldung erscheinen:

<SQL Server setup media does not support the language of the OS or does not have ENU localized files.Use the matching
language-specific SQL-Server media or change the OS locale through Control Panel”>

Folgender RegKey schafft Abhilfe:

<HKEY CURRENT USER \ Control Panel \ International \ Local >

auf 00000407 ändern (German – Germany), den Server rebooten und weg ist die Meldung.

SQL 2008/2012 Express Installation schlägt fehl – language not Supported

by on Apr.09, 2013, under Knowledgebase, Server-Plattformen, SQL Server, SQL Server 2008, SQL Server 2012

Bei der Installation von SQL 2008/2012 Express kommt folgende Fehlermeldung:

“SQL Server Setup media does not Support the language of the OS or does not have ENU localized files. Use the language-specific
SQL Server media or Change the OS locale through Control Panel.”

SQLError

Grund dafür sind die Ländersettings. Microsoft anerkennt die schweizer Sprach scheinbar nicht.

Der REG_SZ-Wert Locale ist zu finden unter HKCU\Control Panel\International\

Regedit

Den Wert “locale” auf “00000807” wechseln (Deu-Deu). Setup starten und voila.
